Do you wonder why the handpoles on some relatively new buses are rusting and flaking off while on other much older buses the handpoles are still almost as new?

Omnikote Ltd has been coating bus and train handpoles in Nylon and polyester for over 15 years. We have coated over one million metres of handpoles, which are now fitted to buses all over the world.

We have always recommended Nylon as the more durable option as it has become obvious to us that while the two coatings may look similar on a new bus, Nylon coating is much better suited to the arduous service environment of buses and trains, and for the little extra cost involved gives much better value for money.

We have seen 12-year-old Omnikote Nylon coated poles that are as good as new, whereas we have been asked to strip and recoat powder-coated poles that have failed in less than eighteen months.

Omnikote is so confident in the durability of its Nylon coating process that we guarantee that if you specify our Nylon coating for your bus and it wears out, simply bring the poles back to us and we will strip the original coating and recoat the poles free of charge.

Do not be fooled by “imitation” Nylon coatings, such as “nylon modified polyester”. Some unscrupulous coaters have in the past attempted to pass these coatings off as Nylon. If you would like to find out what your handpoles are really coated with, just contact us and we will send you your free test kit.

STOP PRESS! The latest development in handpole coating action is now available: Anti-Microbial Nylon R-Ag+. This coating inhibits the growth and spread of bacteria and viruses on public transport as well as giving all the durability of our standard Nylon Coatings.
