Dtec International and DrugWipe Overview

With the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act, managers are increasingly concerned about the possibility of being sued personally as a result of accidents caused by employee drug use.

This is particularly true for companies operating in a safety critical environment who need to protect themselves, their employees, customers and their corporate image.

Industry best practice was pioneered by Stagecoach and Lothian buses who introduced policies to randomly screen all their employees and to screen at interview prior to employment. Their screening device of choice is DrugWipe.

DrugWipe is a disposable instant read out drug screening device that can show drug consumption over the previous 2-3 days, not just a few hours like saliva testing, and by a simple non intrusive wipe of the skin, rather than laboriously collecting a urine sample. The screening can take place anywhere and in less than 5 minutes and positives are confirmed by an external consultant performing a court admissible urine sample process.

DrugWipe requires no capital investment and pays its way by savings from fewer repair costs for dints and dents from accidents due to “lack of attention”.
